Finding out where Toronto’s residents’ associations are

I’m slowly building a map of all of Toronto’s residents’/community associations—because I figured that i) people might find it really useful; ii) no comprehensive map seems to exist anywhere else; iii) and I’m curious about areas that are underrepresented or overrepresented. It started because I’m considering getting something informal together in my neighbourhood (I live near Dundas and Dovercourt), and there’s nothing here in the way of a residents’ group, but there are residents’ associations on every side of here. This morning, on a Post-It note, I scribbled down the ones I knew were adjacent to here on a Post-It note, then figured mapping them would be more useful, and then I just couldn’t stop.

Already, there are some interesting discoveries. Like: there’s one block of Marion Street—above—that is represented by at least three residents’ associations. It’s a one-way street that ends at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and it’s within the stated boundaries of the Sunnyside Community Association, the Roncesvalles-Macdonell Residents’ Association, and the Parkdale Residents Association.
