Norm Macdonald doesn’t especially miss Canada
Norm Macdonald: [Canada] was a great place to start, because, first of all, there’s no industry in Canada. There’s no movies or television.
Marc Maron: Isn’t there a little? And doesn’t…
NM: I think there might be now, but when I was doing it there was none. Or it was horrible.
MM: Cause it seems like if you stayed there long enough and you don’t leave that you will be given a television show of some kind.
NM: Right.
MM: For a certain amount of time.
NM: It’s awf—they’re awful, you know. Canadian, uh, everything about Canada sucks.
MM: Really?
NM: Well in terms of art…
MM: Entertainment?
NM: …in terms of entertainment. Like all the entertainers leave, and most of them don’t want to go—most of them are mad ‘cause they weren’t recognized in Canada, you know, they had to come the States.
