Torontoist won some stuff and so, I guess, did I?

It may be the end of October, and I may have left Torontoist almost a year ago, but work that I did and work that I helped with while I was still around as editor-in-chief just helped land Torontoist three gold Canadian Online Publishing Awards at the Gladstone. (For those keeping track, that makes five wins and twelve nominations for Torontoist in the awards’ three years.) Among that work: our ridiculous G20 coverage (here, here, and here), which I helped plan, organize, and run; and my features about the ridiculous Green Room (here and here).

Torontoist has always been at its best when it’s been a collective, which is to say that I am allowed to take ownership of only a tiny piece of the awards they won—which is to say congratulations to everyone on Torontoist, past and present. And congratulations to OpenFile as well; they took one gold and one silver last night. Here’s to many more Canadian Online Publishing Awards for them both in the future, unless of course I happen to be nominated in the same categories that they are, in which case I wish them absolutely no luck whatsoever.
