This week: the Cameron House, my ‘hood, and Fishbowls
In The Grid:
- The Cameron House has finally got its two new murals up, and they look great. I wrote about how the Queen West tavern started the tradition of painting new murals every few years—and how the new pieces on its east and south sides harken back to the beginning.*
- …speaking of which, I’m looking for photos of the Cameron House’s façade over the years, especially throughout the 1980s. Have any? email me.
- And what better way to end the week than saying goodbye to an old pal? The final five General Motors–made “Fishbowl” TTC buses are making their last stops tonight.
- Live between College, Argyle, Dufferin, and Ossington? There’s an online discussion group for us now, which you can join right over here. Here’s why I made it, and why, if your neighbourhood doesn’t have an email list of its own, you should make one too.
